Some Stand Up Shoes
I’ve been collecting photos of shoes that I love over the past few weeks, in the hopes of serving up an action-packed post filled with lots of Louboutin ‘n Prada. But these days, it’s another sort of slipper that’s got my heart.
By now most are familiar with the Toms shoes movement. That being, for every pair of shoes sold, Toms will provide a pair of shoes to a child in need. These primarily go to children in developing countries where so many diseases are transmitted through the soil, penetrating the skin of children who have no shoes.
Two Girls. Two Countries. One Carry-On.
In exactly seventeen days I will be bolting off to Europe for nearly three weeks of blissful balleehoo with a friend. We have spent the past two months, meticulously plotting a course that will deliver us to the streets of Barcelona, the peaks of the Pyraneese, to Cannes during the film fest and the cafes of Paris. I’ve been giddy-girl for weeks!
On the topic of packing, we have committed to pull our travel weight in a single carry-on each. And well, that means a list.
Flagrante Food Fotos
I have a good friend who also happens to be a well-respected, personal coach. Last night he was sharing some recent learnings on the science of happiness (over some spectacular chocolate chip cookies, I might add. Did someone say happy?!). He has learned that the ratio of emotions that deliver us joy is three to one, meaning that it’s three positive emotions to every salty one that tips us into bliss.
Should this be true, I have cashed in all three of today’s sunny-moment tokens with the food photography of Flagrante Delicia. I am now sturdily situated in my very happy place.
