Cleaning House
Last January I tried my hand at a cleanse for the very first time. Having recently purchased my beloved juicer and having a would be partner-in-crime, my friend Emilie and I embarked on a 14 day cleanse.
It was, dare I say, fruitful (?). It was difficult, for certain, but the benefits far surpassed my expectations. I learned what a “clean” body felt like, free of caffeine and alcohol with a metabolism that burned only whole, organic foods and fresh juice. I was happier, more relaxed, mentally sharper and slept like a baby.
Skipping Town!
I remember growing up, watching tv shows that featured kids who surfed in the morning before school and had outdoor lunchrooms. Where on earth could there exist such a place?!
It’s true, I used to dream about being one of those sun-kissed, teen twerps that flirted with red-suitted lifegaurds at bonfire parties. Much to my pre-pubescent frustration, South Dakota was the farthest of cries but today I’m all grown up (on most days) and am now a well-acclimated California girl. Or, Northern California girl, to be precise which isn’t exactly the same. In fact, it’s hard to beat the Southern California Sun. So in hot pursuit of a little solar power N and I hit the road to Santa Barbara last week. 48 hours were all we needed for a healthy dose of summer.
